Distance Covered:

Got to the estuary to find Jonny, Dave, sarah and someone else out. All on a range of sail sizes, but all saying the were overpowered at times. Decided to get out there and join them rather than do battle with the huge high tide seas on the seafront. Rigged my biggest kit and joined Jonny. As usal in the estuary in a SW the wind was ridiculously gusty at the best of times, but I was still powered up almost the whole time with my 5.7m and able to hang on in the biggest gusts on the flat water. After a while though a couple of totally mad squalls came through, with winds up to 40 knots. The whole estuary turned into a white sheet of spray and I saw Jonny and his kit just explode!!! Had some fun in the squalls, but it was just a normal SW day in the estuary really... Its much more fun in an easterly.
